I listened back to one of last week’s chapters and realised I was reading so quickly. Apologies if that has made it difficult to keep track of what’s going on! Austen’s language is quite a pleasure to speak aloud, though it can be easy to get a bit carried away. I recorded on Saturday instead of Sunday, as I’d been feeling rather down and having something creative and unworklike to do was important.
It’s nice to read a bit of Elinor’s internal motivation, and sense a bit more of her temperament than just the even-handed, self-controlled exterior she projects. Here she tries to dig a bit deeper into what’s going on between Lucy and Edward.
