If you’re friends with me on social media you’ve probably already been spammed about this, but I’m excited! That’s excuse enough, right?

So you know how I’m putting together a gratitude diary for 2016? I want this project to be bigger than just a diary – I want a humming little community of everyday gratitude!

I finally set up a Facebook page called Everyday Gratitude. I’m inviting anyone and everyone (yes, that means you!) to head over there and share what you’re grateful for. Every time someone else tells me what they’re grateful for, I get a big goofy grin on my face, partly because yay! People are responding! and partly because I love to find out what makes people tick.

If you’re more of a visual everyday gratituder, you can also get on the Instagram thing – tag your pics #everydaygratituder and I’ll find them and grin even more and maybe regram them too! It’ll just be one big swirl of gratitude.

Hurrah for momentum! I was starting to get a bit depressed about the whole project (which is the opposite of what it’s supposed to do!). Of course I’m not the first person to seize on the merits of daily gratitude, and of course I’m not the first person to put together a journal. I would see other examples of what I’m trying to do and get all deflated about the unoriginality of my brain (see previous post re: gremlins).

But then I remember the words of Dr Seuss in Oh the places you’ll go: “Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.” And nobody’s done what I’m doing exactly the way I’m doing it. So yay! I’m grateful for being me, and approaching things in my own unique way – and if I can help others do that too, so much the better.

So what are you waiting for? Hop on over to Facebook and let me know what you’re grateful for!
