I’m always astounded by cooking. It’s something that is so simple on one level, but on another level, how do we have such variety? What made someone first decide to try cooking an egg? And then what made them think, “I wonder what will happen if I beat the egg first and then cook it? Or submerge it in boiling water after I crack it? Or add it to these other things?” Even our most basic cooking is based on discovery and creativity. Bet you don’t normally think that when you have toast in the morning!

  

After dinner tonight we felt like something more, so I I was able to whip up these muffins using a Donna Hay recipe and tweaking it a bit. What a blessing to firstly have the ingredients on hand, and secondly to know how to do it. i’m grateful for delicious food, cooking, for the creative joy in baking. And the noms.
